The INFORM Consumers Act is effective as of June 27, 2023. Under this legislation, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and state law enforcement officials now have authority to require “online marketplaces” where “high-volume sellers” (both defined by the legislation) offer products to collect, verify and disclose critical information about those sellers or face a steep fine.
