The Center for Anti-Counterfeiting and Protection Protection (A-CAPP) offers a variety of non-credit educational opportunities in the area of brand protection. This policy is specific for its non-credit courses for the Professional Certificate in Foundations of Brand Protection.
- Courses can be purchased via the A-CAPP Center’s ecommerce site or through invoice in special circumstances, hereby referred to as “enrollment”.
- Courses are accessed and completed via the Articulate Learning Management System (LMS), hereby referred to as “LMS”
Courses are compatible for JAWS, NVDA, Narrator and Voiceover, with the exception of some interactives. If you need additional accommodations, please contact acapp@msu.edu.
User Enrollment
Enrollment into courses within the LMS is achieved through the purchase of individual course(s) or learning path(s) (grouping of courses). All purchases, regardless of quantity or pricing type (individual or bulk), are purchases for immediate enrollment. Users must be identified at the time of purchase, and enrollment will occur within 24–48 hours of purchase. The 24-48 hour clock applies to normal business hours 8a-5p EST Monday-Friday and may be delayed during MSU designated holidays.
Unassigned or unnamed licenses are not permitted beyond the enrollment period and may be forfeited.
Users will be enrolled and receive an email notification from the LMS, and at which point serves as the starting date for the access period (see “User Access” below). Users can access courses anytime after this once they complete their account set up. As part of account set up, users may be asked to provide certain registration details or other information. It is a condition of your use that all the information you provide on this site will be correct, current, and complete. If the A-CAPP Center believes the information you provide is not correct, current, or complete, the A-CAPP Center has the right to refuse you access to this site or any of its resources, and to terminate or suspend your access at any time.
Refunds or transfers are not permitted once a user is enrolled into the LMS.
User Access
Users can access courses through their account and will have 180 days to complete the course(s) from time of enrollment into the LMS. User access to a course(s) will be terminated once a user completes a course or once 180 days have elapsed since enrollment, whichever is sooner, or unless otherwise noted.
Extensions are available, by user, for any course not yet complete and only when requested 3 business days prior to the expiration of said course. A course extension can be purchased for a $50 fee.
If an extension is not requested 3 business days prior to the course expiring, the course will have to be repurchased and started over.
Course Retakes are available to users who unsuccessfully completed a course. A course retake will reset the course and can be purchased for a $150 fee.
A course is considered complete once the user completes the course final assessment, regardless of score and is allowed two attempts to do so.
User Certificates
Certificates are earned once a user successfully completes a course or a learning path. A course or learning path is considered successful when the final assessment for a course or courses in a learning path is scored at 80% or better. There are two types of certificates:
- Course certificate of completion. This certificate is course based and earned when a user successfully completes a given course. Users can download their earned certificate of completion directly from the LMS system.
- Professional Certificate in Foundations of Brand Protection. This certificate is learning path based and earned when a user successfully completes all 18 courses within it. Users can download their earned professional certificate directly from the LMS system only when enrollment is learning path based.
Users who purchase the required courses for a professional certificate outside of the bundle will not automatically receive the professional certificate and are required to contact the A-CAPP Center at a-capp.msu.edu to receive.
It is the users responsibility to download certificates from their account once earned and should do so prior to their access being terminated.
Pricing
The A-CAPP Center provides established pricing for both individual courses and course bundles. Additional discounted rates may be available through bulk enrollment purchases, scheduled promotions, or other special offerings and can not be stacked. All qualifying conditions must be satisfied at the time of purchase. Please consult our website and ecommerce platform for pricing and applicable promotion guidelines for further information.
Please contact Andy at grayso17@msu.edu for any questions.
