Counterfeit products can be found in almost every online space. The Internet is an ideal forum for counterfeiters because it allows them to hide in plain sight while disguising the nature of their products. The same venues that facilitate trade and commerce and support social engagements and personal connections also provide counterfeiters’ opportunities to interact with consumer. The spread of technology and its incorporation into online commerce and trade have exacerbated the problem of online counterfeiting.
